'82 was a great year for music. I might like '81 a little better, but that's like comparing chocolate chip and mint chip ice cream. Sadly, No Stranger to Danger isn't on Qobuz, but a greatest hits album is, so I saved that.
Excellent picks for other '82 faves: Police, OMD, ABC, and Genesis! I'd have to concur.
I only know this album by Payola$, and I remember "Eyes of a Stranger" getting some airplay on MTV and my local new-wave radio station. In fact, I almost wrote about that song for Earworms, as it was an earworm, but I went with Billy Idol's "Eyes Without a Face" instead.
“Eyes of a Stranger” is an all-time tune. And Rock & Hyde was one of the first cds my dad got when we got our first cd player. That and Doug & The Slugs.
The Rock and Hyde album might be my fave by them. And Ronson later worked with Dalbello, so major props to him
A little glossier than the Payola$ sound, but that was a great record, too.
Maybe not as glossy as Here's the World For Ya...
Tina only knew one of these songs (I knew none) but she immediately knew it was the Payola$ as she recognized Paul Hyde’s voice straight away.
His diction and cadence is very recognizable. One of my fave singers!
Definitely a characteristic voice

Yeah, too many to choose from! Their hits record is excellent, obviously.
You could still write up ‘Eyes’… 🤘🏻
Mick Ronson also did some great work with Dalbello.
He sure did 👍🏻
Love this. Thank you. Great reminder.
Thanks as always, Chris! 🫡
🤘👊🎸 and thank you for your thanks. Have a brilliant day

Two classic albums there!
I love this album - very nice write-up! I'm scheduled to write on it as well about 15 albums from now.
Thank you, Alex. I’m sure you’ll have a great take on it! 🫡
