What stands out here is how clearly this captures the fragile lifespan of so many early-’80s bandsβ€”talent, one moment of alignment with radio, then quiet disappearance. Posts like this matter because they restore scale to music history. Not everything was iconic; most of it was human, temporary, and sincere. That honesty gives the piece its weight.

They came, they saw, they got dumped by the label. Tale as old as time!

That period from around β€˜77 to β€˜83 or so was savage - so many new sounds.

That first one is a very hazy memory.

Beautiful ballad, not one I’d heard before. As soon as it started, Tina started crying, β€œthis song used to make me cry as a little girl”. Seems like it still does. Definitely a winner this morning Ken!

It’s a lovely tune. Hope they were nostalgic tears, Tina. πŸ₯²

This was such a big hit when I worked in radio. Huge phone requests. And yet, you never hear it these days. A shame.
