in 85, they played my high school. the 'concert' was so big they had to move it from the gym to the Arnprior Arena. A longtime favourite and underrated band!
Great tune, though βBurning in Loveβ remains my favourite from the debut. I was in their target demographic - turned 20 in 1984 - and even I found βWave Babiesβ cringy. And the second album was even better to these ears: βFeel It Againβ and βWhat Does It Takeβ are still regular plays for me almost 40 years later.
I kind of recall that this was a song set on a cold winter night, but the label advised them to change that up. I also recall the really cheesy viddy for Wave Babies. But of all their songs, I thought Feel it Again was underrated, and it was kind of wild that they got Ian Anderson to play on a song, something Men Without Hats did the year after. Canadians and their prog...
Great read, my friend. I grew up with my parents always making sure Canadian artists were at the front of the road trip's CD order - can't beat the boys from the Falls.
Ah yes, Jack FM plays this all the time. A banger, to be sure. But this will always be my fave, perhaps you'll feature this one day? π https://youtu.be/XIkB_zXvp0s?si=fhqAqNhiz8O-yfOF

Eight Seconds were underrated. βAlmacantarβ is worth a spin.
The high school concerts in ON were insane. A lot of big artists did them.
agreed.
we had HS
then in 86 one with Images in Vogue and another with 8 Seconds. Sure not as big as the Suite, but still bands that had actual videos.

They had such a great start. Try the two new records if you havenβt heard them!
Oh, man! I had totally forgotten about this song. What a great track! Like you said - perfect 80s pop. Thanks for sharing.
Itβs so good. All the hooks!

Oh yeah, 15 year old me loved Wave Babies π It hasnβt aged well, I guess.
We do love having prog stars sit in, donβt we? π¨π¦
A great one! You had my wife singing and dancing in the kitchen this morning!
This is always the high-water mark for my posts! Glad to get the seal of approval again. ππ»
Man, Honeymoon Suite!
